Hello everyone. I've been a supporter of APF for quite some time and have decided to include the organization in my will. I am an Army Veteran. However, my career was cut short due to brutal Domestic violence. I was excited to be deployed or serve my counrty in any way deemed appropriate for my skills. However I never got the chance because my fiance, who had been violent before, broke both my spine in two places and almost destryed my left knee among hundreds of fractures, Haed Trauma and so on over years ans then finally ended any hope of continuing in the Army. I want no pity. I am a SURVIVOR and despite my Disabilities, I feel blessed to have had this experince so that I might one day reach another person who endures Domestic Violence and does not believe in a way out. Thank you for allowing me to add my comment here. Every day is a struglle and I thought things were going to turn out like this in my life! It's the people on here who keep me going, and my family, because I know you all understand. Thank you so much, Sarah Kathleen Bauer |
