chronic muscle spasm

Message:

I am a pro golfer but my career is being hampered by chronic muscle spasms in my neck and left trap. I literally have to take two or three weeks off from the tour because of the pain and limited range of motion. I've been taking pain meds and steroids. They seem to help but only temporarily.

Any suggestions to keep the spasms from returning?

Spasms usually start with a muscle knot, called a trigger point. Injections of lidocaine + Depo Medrol, a steroid, can do the trick for quite a long time. Consult an experienced pain doc for this.
