Conference Room and Discussion Board Guidelines

Welcome to the PainAid Conference Rooms and Discussion Boards!

These conference rooms and discussion boards are for your support and empowerment. Below are some of the basic rules which apply to conference room and discussion board conduct within this forum.

As outlined in the guidelines and policies of PainAid, each chat is logged and may be made available for downloading. If the Chat Host deems it necessary, the log may be forwarded to a Review Team. If there is evidence that a member may have violated PainAid policy, guidelines, or standards of conduct, access to PainAid may be revoked.

Our conference rooms and discussion boards do not allow the following:

Any chat or post deemed to be an attempt at harassment or hatefulness toward any person or group of people.

Harassment or bashing based on gender, sexual orientation, race, color, religious views or any other reason is not allowed in the PainAid conference rooms or discussion boards.

Any chat or post that contains vulgar or obscene language.

Chats or posts that contain vulgar or obscene language (regardless of how the word is used) will not be tolerated.

There are some phrases/words that are used in everyday talk, but they may not be appropriate for this community. We are a family oriented site, and we expect our members to conduct themselves in a manner appropriate to all age groups.

Any chat or post that solicits the exchange of explicit, X-rated, videos or photos in any format (i.e., GIFs, JPGs, MPGs). Distribution of explicit images is prohibited by law. PainAid does not allow the posting or trading of explicit or X-rated images or messages.

Any chat or post that contains advertisements or personal solicitations. This site is dedicated to support and empowerment. Attempts to solicit, accept or allow advertisements may result in the termination of user access to PainAid.

Any chat or post that attempts to solicit drugs of any sort. Solicitation of drugs will result in immediate termination of user access to PainAid.

Any chat which contains an intention to disrupt the room or which causes disruption.

Please Note: This list may be revised at any time without notice. Please check this document regularly for the most updated posting rules.

Please remember that PainAid is an international community. Political views, opinions and government structures vary dramatically from state to state and country to country. Culture, language and humor have different points of reference around the country and around the world. Respect, courtesy and tolerance of others and their views are vital to this community. These must always be demonstrated in PainAid postings

We hope that you enjoy your experience here. Please keep in mind that other members are here for their own enjoyment, too. Please inform us of any activity that does not follow these guidelines.

Ok folks - our monitors are having continuing issues with finding foul language on the boards. Thank you to everyone who helps keep this site clean and family friendly.

If you see an offensive comment, please let me know at PA_Carolina@bellsouth.net

Thanks to all!!

I am new to this pain website have had chronic pain for many years.
I have fibromyalgia and diabetes, chronic fatigue, depression and you

Hey Sotherngal: Will your username etc give you access to the boards but not the conf. room?

When you sign in initially, make sure to check the box that says"keep me signed in", this may help. Here is the link to the Home Page: http://painaid.painfoundation.org/Default.aspx?pageId=1 . Click on Chat (or Conference) Rooms instead of Discussion Board. Try using the link above as your start page and add it to favorites.

Hope I've helped...if you continue to have probs, drop another reply here. I'm generally in chat daily, hope to see you there my friend!

Hugs and miles of smiles,
Gootsie

Southerngal,

Your login name and password would be the same for the boards and the chats, but you do have to log in separately.

From here, click on the Home button in the top blue border, click on the Chat Room link on the left and then sign in. Then you can choose a chat room.

If we can help with this, just drop us a line at PA_Carolina@bellsouth.net

Greetings, I am new to your board too! Just wanted those in pain to know that they are not alone! I understand pain and have learned to live a normal productive life and you can too.

I hope to jump in on the chat room next time. Remember to breath in and out with pain and be in control mentally. It works. Our hearts and brain can over come how we respond to pain and experience the level of pain.

Hi Angel Girl.

Sometimes that is so true. Other times, the pain overrides anything I can do. I think most of us try.

Long term pain is such a totally different thing that short term accute pain. Short term pain is much easier to control with breathing and visualization.

Chronic pain can leave me feeling drained and whipped after a bad bout. I can try to do the breathing and visualization during a bad bout but the pain makes it impossible. During the lower pain days, optimism can be the best medicine (Along with my normal scripts) to keep me happy.
